With the support of collaborators and volunteer-led community events, Outside Las Vegas coordinates programs and initiatives that inform residents and visitors about the majestic landscapes, urban trails and parks throughout Nevada. Through local and regional programs that connect more people to our outdoor treasured spaces, we offer:
Explore Beyond the Lights – The Outdoor Hidden Gems!
GET OUTDOORS, GET MOVING, GET INSPIRED! We organize a trail-walking group, to get outdoors, get moving and get inspired by discovering our Nevada outdoor hidden gems. Each month we host a walking tour through our special hidden gems, highlighting the treasures found at each outdoor location, connecting the community to our special outdoor places!
Vegas Valley Rim Trail
Leading the charge to link fabulous recreational opportunities that encircle our Valley with a loop trail that will be 100+ miles around! So far, Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, the Regional Transportation Commission, the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition, and the Southern Nevada Agency Partnership have all passed resolutions in support of the Vegas Valley Rim Trail! Imagine the opportunities for family outings, health & fitness, education, and community building that this project will create! This will build a healthier today, and a better tomorrow.
River Mountains Loop Trail
As an important project of Get Outdoors Nevada, we house the partnership, provide fiscal sponsorship and support to preserve and protect this historic 35-mile loop trail allowing this citizen driven work to continue. To learn more about this multi-jurisdictional trail visit: RiverMountainsTrail.org website or on Facebook.
Lower Colorado River Water Trail Alliance
This Alliance created a designated national water trail, promote the recreation experience, protect the water’s natural beauty and resources, and engage the public in its stewardship.
The Black Canyon Colorado River Trail from Hoover Dam to Placer Cove along the Arizona/Nevada border is a mostly flat waterway connecting residents and visitors for an opportunity to kayak, canoe, fish, cycle, hike, and experience hot springs.
We are dedicated to enriching Nevadan’s quality of life by continually collaborating with all sectors of the community to offer life-long learning, stewardship and a lifestyle of health and well-being. We do this by:
